Catalogue Raisonné

The Board of the Wolf Kahn Foundation has created a Catalogue Raisonné Committee to develop a comprehensive catalogue of the artwork of Wolf Kahn and provide a central location for the acceptance of work into the official Catalogue Raisonné.

We advise all owners or sellers considering submitting work to the Catalogue Raisonné Committee to carefully review the Examination Procedures document and Description of Artwork form below.

If you decide to submit an artwork (painting, pastel, print or drawing) please complete the Description of Artwork form, including high-quality digital images of the work and all relevant historical documentation, and send them via email or Dropbox to admin@wolfkahnfoundation.org. Once received, we will send you a Letter of Agreement to sign before moving forward.

An initial review may be based on high-quality digital photographs of the work (jpg, minimum 2500 pixels for the shortest dimension), along with the other documentation required. Additional high-resolution reproduction-quality images, taken at the owner’s expense, may be required after the initial submission.

After a review of the Description of Artwork form, digital images, and documentation submitted, the Committee may ask to examine the work in person. The owner of the work is responsible for the cost of insuring the artwork and all shipping. There is no charge for the examination.

The Committee comprises at least three experts in Wolf Kahn’s work and will meet periodically, as needed. Submitters can expect to receive a determination within two months of the submission. For a work to be accepted into the Catalogue Raisonné, the Committee’s opinion must be unanimous. Other options include a denial or a request for more information.
